Our Motivation
At Insaniat Food Bank, we believe that hunger, sickness and death do not have a religion. Yet, every religion on earth teaches to feed the hungry, take care of the sick and honor the dead. IFB wishes to focus on the first and foremost of these human conditions: hunger.
Our Mission
The mission of our non-profit organization - Insaniat Food Bank (IFB) - is to fulfill just one need of the local needy families: food security for them and their dependents. A hungry body is at a greater risk to fall sick. A hungry child is unable to attend school regularly or concentrate fully on his/her studies. Elderly people in poor families also suffer due to lack of enough food.
Our Goal
Our goal is to run a free food bank for needy families in our locality. IFB will serve the most vulnerable food-insecure local population from all walks of life. A box of basic food items will be provided twice-a-month to the most food-insecure families of ALL backgrounds and ALL faiths in the neighborhood: Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Dalits, Adivasis and Tribals. No questions will be asked about their background, status or belief.
Our Core Values
Insaniat Food Bank (IFB) believes in eradicating hunger at a local level. IFB volunteers will serve with passion, zeal, honor, and commitment without personal gains. They make a lasting difference in people’s life by aligning their selfless interests with IFB’s mission. Volunteering is not about giving time only. It is also about connecting and discovering what impact you can have on society’s less-fortunate ones.
Our Operational Approach
The IFB executive board is made up of a president, a secretary, a treasurer, an IT expert and an accountant — all from the local community. The team will serve with dedication and great transparency, without any prejudice or bias towards recipient families. Anyone who believes in IFB’s Core Values is welcome to join the executive board or volunteers team. IFB board members/volunteers do not receive any salary or favors.

IFB is run and fully sustained by donations from the local community and other benefactors. We encourage you to donate generously. Your donation to IFB becomes a source of perpetual charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) for yourself or on behalf of loved ones in your family.
